    Nomination Form - Young Black Achievers' Awards

    Marking the end of Black History Month

    YBA Awards aims to promote a positive image of black youth in Northamptonshire. YBA  have set up these awards to highlight and celebrate the achievements of young people and their continued commitment to the community in
    Northamptonshire.
    We would like you to nominate a young person who you think deserves the award by completing the nomination form below. Alternatively, you may print and complete the nomination form.

    Applications for nominations are now open. Closing date for nominations is 30th October. An independent panel of judges from community and public sector organizations will be judging the nomination forms. 


    Nomination Categories

    Academic: Academic award recognizes the hard work and perseverance of a young person who has succeeded in their chosen subject or subjects showing their determination to achieve their learning goals.

    Community: Community award recognizes young people who help to promote a sense of community and improve the quality of people’s lives. It identifies young people who have demonstrated that they are committed to bringing people together and inspire changes that lead to improvements to their local community.

    Arts: This award recognizes young people who have made an outstanding achievement in the area of arts including theatre, the creative arts or writing.

    Music: This award recognizes young people who have made an outstanding achievement in the field of music and entertainment.

    Sports: This award is the identity of young people who have developed themselves through some form of physical sporting activity but not necessarily via formal teams, traditional sports or sports clubs.

    Young Entrepreneur: Nominations are accepted from individuals or a group who have had an enterprising idea for a business, community activity or product. The success should be demonstrated clearly in the submission.

    The Police & Community Relations Award: The award is for  young people aged 16-25 who have volunteered for the Police or have turned their lives around. Mentors are also accepted.
